It was a damp, cold, blustery day in October, when a beautiful schoolteacher married her longtime sweetheart at a family home in the Chestertown/ Church Hill area of the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Every touch was exquisite, and everyone was so excited that these two were tying the knot.  I love working with couples who treat me like I’m one of the family- and these two were no exception– beautiful inside and out!

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Hicks!  Thank you for choosing Andrea Burns Photography!

several weeks ago I had the pleasure to help my friend Brittany out.  She’s the very talented photographer of Dunks Photo, and an awesome-fun Boxer mommy.  ;) .  We went to High School together eons ago, and we’ve both moved back to The Shore within the last year.  Together we shot the McGrath wedding in Annapolis, MD, at the beautiful Loews Hotel.  Brittany & Chris were a fun couple with awesome friends…. hadn’t seen a party like that in a long time!  Be sure to check out the “Livin’ On a Prayer” rock-out song below….

Many congratulations & Blessings Brittany & Chris!

The M family members are troopers.  Vacationing from NJ on Kent Island, MD, they wanted me to come out and photograph them on the waters of the Chesapeake Bay.  I was originally slated for a Saturday night shoot.  But then the weather forecast said 70% chance of rain.  So we moved it to the night before.  Only 20% chance of rain.

Wouldn’t you know, it started to rain on my drive in.  It sprinkled all of my time there, with a short heavy rain in the middle (we hid and shot on the porch).  The beautiful crazy of it all?  We could see directly across the bay to Annapolis… where the sun was setting and gorgeous.  So the silhouette you’re about to see?  Raining on us.

Enough about the story… what a genuinely gorgeous family.  Such warm and generous hearts… mom had never met before… but the wind had picked up and she kindly lent me her sweatshirt.  They were true sports to follow my directions in the windy drizzle….

Thanks M family!  I’m SO HAPPY for the raindrops we had that night!

Sixty years ago two of the most beautiful people in my life, met and married and started a long lasting legacy**.  My grandparents “Granny & Goodaddy.”  They met at Toccoa Falls College in the late 1940′s.  They courted, and on a choir trip, my Gooddaddy asked Granny to marry him.

Two daughters (plus spouses), five grandchildren (and three spouses), and four great-grandchildren later, we all gathered in North Carolina to celebrate sixty years of wedded bliss.  I love how they love each other.  They tease each other, he calls her his “Sweet Baboo.”  They hold hands, they pray together.

Happy 60th Anniversary to the sweetest and gentlest people I know and cherish.  I love you both so much.

**Out of the above mentioned 14 adults, Ten are Toccoa Falls Graduates, Three more having attended at least a year.

May 15, 2010 was a GORGEOUS day to get married. A bright and warm sun, and a quaint country backyard filled with close family and friends. This was a truly intimate affair, but the highlight that day was watching Susan & Todd get married. Susan & Todd are from Colorado, but chose to get married in his parent’s backyard. They are foodies, and the foods at this wedding were AMAZING. In fact, during our consultation, Susan told me to forget shooting her, as long as I got photos of the food! LOL, I did both, as she was a stunning bride!

Don’t you just love the title? It was on a distressed tile in the bridal house, and so fitting for this beautiful couple.  Kathleen & Gianni were married on a wet day in October.  They chose a very intimate location, complete with historic chapel and gorgeous grounds… sadly because of the rain I didn’t get to shoot as much on grounds as I had hoped.

I really did enjoy myself at this wedding, I love it when a family takes me in, treats me as one of their own… I end up always feeling like one of the family and SO HAPPY I was a part of their special day.

Many blessings in your new life together Kathleen & Gianni!

It started as a hot, sunny late July day. It was the perfect day for Anne and Bryant to get married!  This was a very special couple… you could feel their love for each other just emanating off of them!  They were both so handsome and have such beautiful souls.  It was my first time shooting with a second shooter.  Beth Kubovcik of Sugar Rush Photography.   We had SO much fun together… She is so talented!

Now onto the show….

And of course, it ended in a spectacular thunderstorm!  Congrats and best wishes to Anne & Bryant!

Recently, I had the privilege of shooting Caitlin & Luke’s wedding day. It was a hot, sunny, but gorgeous day in the beginning of August. They were a fun couple incorporating many personal things into their wedding day to personalize the experience for everyone.
