finding moments in life worth capturing.

loving and embracing those moments just as the subjects do.

caring for and respecting those moments like they are your own, because just for a split second, they are.

having the knowledge and practice to know where to move, how to adjust your camera, consider the lighting, the subject, the emotion…

and snap the shutter at the exact. right. second.

thanking your subject for allowing you to catch a glimpse into their life, their soul, their love.

selecting the perfect images to proof.  the ones that most perfectly portray the expirience.

proofing in a way that reflects the subject, the day… proofing in a way that you’re sure to not only make the viewer feel deep in their heart what it was like to be there,

but also in a way that makes the subject remember, deep in their soul what it was like to be.

looking back on images once taken and recognizing how you’ve grown, knowing that as an artist, though you may reach your “happy place”,

you will never truly finish growing.

remembering that the steps you take in your career are not steps of mistakes and imperfection, but rather building blocks that fit perfectly together

to create a windy stairwell of experience, emotion and love.

knowing that the first thousand steps are just as important as the very last.

being a photographer is really important.

trust me.

Nate and I celebrated nine years of marriage.

Exactly nine years ago earlier, it was raining cats and dogs. I was hurrying from the hairdresser’s, wearing a bag on my head to not ruin my bridal do’.  Today…  the two of us have a few more greys and a few more wrinkles. Who knew 9 years ago we’d be where we are and have what we have?!?!

Nate, it’s been an adventure, and thanks for sticking by my side! I love you!

(Thanks to my brother-in-law for pressing the button!)

Meet sweet baby Maya, who is about to celebrate her very first birthday~  This beauty was a shy one, that I had to pull out all of my tricks to get her sweet smiles.  But they were worth every sweat drop… look at her smiles…. just darling!

Thanks F family!  Happy birthday Maya!

Two more recent girls I had the pleasure to photograph… first up is Jess~  She was super sweet, one of those girls who don’t realize *just how pretty they really are.*

Next is Tori… this girl is a nationally ranked Martial Arts star.  No Kidding!  If Jess was sweet, Tori is definitely Spice, we just laughed the entire time together.

He dribbles, he shoots, he scores!!!!

The last few Fridays I have been shooting commercial Model/ Actress Headshots for an Agency in Rockville, MD. I have been having so much fun working with trained children and teens, and the Agency’s grounds are amazing and diverse (Bonus!).  These are just a couple of my first few favorites, as I start to edit.

There are more to come!

Why hello Mr. C!  Nice to see you again!  This last year you have gotten sooooo big!  But your smile is still contagious, and your laughter still endearing.  I love how you’ve matured a little, but I still see the spark of your charming personality.  But shhhh…. don’t tell your mom…. I am also starting to see glimpses of the boy you’re about to become too.  Handsome & heartwarming… such a deadly combination!

This photo just makes me laugh.  Because OF COURSE you get strapped into your seat when you go for a haircut at the barber’s.  I mean, that’s completely normal.

I can’t express how much I’m going to miss my friends Joey & Amy when they move south in a few weeks.  They welcomed us to Maryland with open arms, provided innumerable laughs, taught us the *right* way to make Fondue, and enabled my husband’s new obsession with all things Apple.  All with  generous and beautiful hearts.  All I can say is… we are on our way for a visit.  ;)

*awesome product alert*

I wanted to share my own personal Mother’s Day gift… and let you know that I am now offering these Photo Purses.
